Remembering Paul Caponigro

Photographer Paul Caponigro was a close friend of Benjamen Chinn’s.

Drafted into the U.S. Army near the end of the Korean war, Paul was was assigned to the photo studio at the Presidio of San Francisco. There he met Ben Chinn who took him to a party at Ansel Adams’s house where he saw Adams’s photographs. and met artists Minor White, Dorothea Lange, Imogen Cunningham.
